The first high school team sport in Washington to hold a state tournament was boys basketball--starting in 1931. In the 1970’s the WIAA started expanding state tournaments to include baseball, football, girls basketball, and volleyball. In the 1980’s softball, girls soccer, and boys soccer were added to the list. For Cedarcrest (and Tolt HS)--as of the 2013-2014 school year--girls soccer has made it to the state tournament 12 times, baseball has made it 11 times, football has made it 6 times, volleyball 5 times, softball 5 times (slowpitch 2 times and fastpitch 3 times), boys basketball 3 times, boys soccer 2 times, and girls basketball 1 time.

We have had two teams win state championships—girls soccer in 1992 and  baseball in 2009. Of the 12 times girls soccer has made it to state tournaments they have placed in the top 4 positions 9 times.
