Aquaponics club was created to give back to the community. We combine STEM and sustainable farming in order to raise fresh fish and vegetables that will be donated to the local food banks. The system uses dirty water, created by the fish, to fertilize the leafy greens. The leafy greens then clean the water and it cycles down to the fish. We are trying to build it from scrap material and plan to utilize solar panels.
The three objectives of the Aquaponics club are: 1) to successfully grow fruits and vegetables by using an aquaponics system 2) to donate all proceeds to food anks and to give them healthy and safe food 3) to help the community by completing community service acts.
